The Challenge

Kris & Bjorn from "Luxs Insights B.V." approached us with a request for maintenance and further development of their real estate insights web application. The application presents data about their clients’ real estates in such a way that it can be shown in 2D & 3D models, BIM (Building Information Modeling), real time data about estates whereabouts, costs, cadaster information, rental contracts and others. The application also provides reporting which complies with Dutch bylaws and real estate regulations.

In the beginning, we provided one full-stack developer who worked on three projects, main application written in Scala on backend and Angular on frontend, second application written in Scala for connection with external systems and third application written in C++ for importing BIM models into system. The project has MySQL database and uses Linux servers for testing and production.

As "Luxs" grew, introducing new clients to the application, more and more requests came to our side for implementation. Connection to more external data systems, as public also as clients, introducing more detailed building 3D models, customizable and configurable UI and UX, integration with different ID providers. With their growth, our team also grew, first for one more full stack web developer and a few months later for one more frontend developer.

This small, but competent software team, with Kris & Bjorn clear vision, in-depth knowledge and good a sense of Dutch real estate market, together they have made rapid growth in the number of clients and buildings in the system which gave us only wind in the back that together we can deliver anything.

Just a few days before writing this article, we increased our team with two more developers creating new a project in AI and also 5 architecture engineers who create building models in 3D for our clients' clients.
